Pulse October 2025 - Chair Welcome

It’s been a season of connection, collaboration, and purpose for PKF.

In this edition of Pulse, we reflect on the highlights of the AsPac Conference in Taipei, where PKF leaders from across the Asia Pacific came together to share insights, challenge thinking, and strengthen the bonds that make our network so powerful. It was inspiring to see the depth of talent across our region and the collective drive to keep pushing for excellence, innovation, and impact. You can read more about the conference on page 12.

Speaking of impact, I’m proud to share the official launch of PKF Impact a group dedicated to driving our community, environmental, and social initiatives. This isn’t just a committee in name; it’s a commitment to making a tangible difference in the communities where we live and work for our staff and clients alike. To read more about PKF Impact, head to page 13.

Fundraising for breast and ovarian cancer has been a key focus across the PKF network this year, with our Melbourne and Newcastle offices making significant contributions to their local communities. This October, Newcastle will host the annual Breast Care Breakfast, an event grounded in generosity and community
spirit. With breast cancer impacting so many lives, it’s a cause that holds deep personal meaning for many of us. To secure your tickets or donate to this great cause, go to page 5.

This year has also seen a significant milestone achieved for our Adelaide office, celebrating 30 years in business. It was an honour for me and my wife Karen to join the team in Adelaide to celebrate their 30 year anniversary milestone where we were joined by fellow PKF Global Board member Vincent Chew and his wife Helen. Thank you PKF Adelaide for allowing us to be a part of your journey and upholding the PKF brand and values in all that you do.

You’ll also find some timely and thought-provoking reads in this edition, from key Tax updates and the latest on Superannuation changes, to a deep dive into how AI is reshaping the cyber risk landscape. Each of these articles is packed with insights to help you stay informed, compliant, and ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing business environment.

What I find particularly valuable in this month’s edition is the calibre of thought leadership our teams continue to deliver. Pieces like Is your strategy slide a deck that gets reviewed every year? (page 31) challenge leaders to look beyond the planning stage and focus on building organisational capability.

Our features on sustainability and ESG (page 2 and 7) offer clear, practical guidance on meeting new compliance standards while creating long-term value. And for those navigating major change, our client success story on small business restructuring (page 17) provides actionable steps you can put into
practice today. This is the kind of content that doesn’t just inform, it equips you to lead with confidence. This issue is full of stories that reflect the best of PKF, from industry leadership to community involvement. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed living it.
