PKF Perth donates $10,000 to zero2hero

PKF Perth is delighted to support zero2hero, a Western Australian charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people and preventing suicide in Australia. Anthony Russo Battagliolo and Darren Shillington recently presented a donation to Oscar Wharton from zero2hero.

We believe in giving back to the community and supporting causes that make a meaningful difference. This donation reflects our commitment to our values of passion, integrity, and community, and to fostering positive mental health outcomes while helping create a brighter future for young Australians.

Mental health challenges among young people remain a significant concern:

  • Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 – 44
  • 1 in 4 young Australians are currently experiencing a mental health problem
  • 75% of mental health illnesses emerge before the age of 25
  • Adolescents are more likely to talk to their friends when they are struggling

These figures highlight the need for education, support, and leadership programs that help young people navigate these challenges.

zero2hero offer a range of school programs, camps and events that educate, engage and empower thousands of young people every year. Throughout 2025, zero2hero has supported 66,000 young people across WA. This number is expected to reach 68,000 by the end of the year.

“Mental health is a challenge that affects every community, and these statistics highlight the importance of early intervention and programs that give young people the tools to manage their mental health. zero2hero are doing incredible work to support young people across Western Australia, and PKF Perth is proud to support such a worthy cause.”

Anthony Russo Battagliolo, Partner, PKF Perth

“zero2hero is incredibly grateful to PKF for this generous donation. Throughout 2025, we have supported over 66,000 young people with life-changing mental health education programs. With supporters like PKF, we can continue to ensure that young people throughout WA feel supported and empowered to manage their mental health.”
