PKF's Andrew Beattie and Stacie Shaw named as finalists in Australian Accounting Award

PKF is proud to announce the achievements of Director, Andrew Beattie, and Commercial Manager, Stacie Shaw, in being named as finalists in the 2022 Australian Accounting Awards.

As one of Australia’s most prestigious accounting honours, the awards recognise over 290 high-achieving professionals across 34 categories.

Having made a strong commitment to his team over the past 15 years and becoming a sought-after mentor within the firm and industry, Andrew is set to be a top contender for this year’s Mentor of the Year award. A reflection of his pragmatic approach, Andrew places significant importance on mentoring the next generation of leaders, not only within the firm, but across the Hunter.

“I find that the most crucial aspect of my role as a mentor, is recognising that this has a flow on effect in how my mentees manage and develop their own mentees and teams and look after clients and manage their businesses. It is all about setting them up for success and ensuring that they know that I am there to support them along the way, catch them if they fall, and pick them back up”.

On the back of her most recent finalist position in the Women in Finance awards, Stacie has once again set herself in the top ranks as a finalist for the Accounting Support Staff of the Year award.

Starting as a trainee with the firm 16 years ago, Stacie has grown to become the person that our team can go to for anything and everything. A most recent highlight has been her involvement in a firm-wide software change-over, giving our team the technology they need to work efficiently through collaboration.

“It is a privilege that I am able to do what I love, and I am grateful to PKF for giving me this opportunity.” said Shaw.

“I am a firm believer that if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right, always, whether someone is watching or not. The highest professional compliment I’ve ever been paid was being called “safe hands” – and it’s been my professional motivation and mantra ever since.”

Established in 2014, the Australian Accounting Awards acknowledge the top professionals in the industry, showcasing the depth of talent in the nation’s accounting professionals and businesses, and recognising their success and passion for the sector.

Accountants Daily editor Philip King said: “The Accountants Daily Australian Accounting Awards night is renowned as the premier event each year when the profession recognises and celebrates those right at the top of their game.”

The winners are set to be announced mid-June, so please join us in congratulating and wishing Andrew and Stacie the best of luck.
