A season to remember: Claremont Football Club's centenary year
As Claremont Football Club celebrated 100 years of history, community and success, PKF Perth was proud to play a part in the journey as a Major Support Sponsor of both the Senior Men's and Women's teams for the first time. Being involved during Claremont's centenary year made the partnership particularly meaningful, providing an opportunity to celebrate the club's rich history while recognising its continued contribution to the local community.
On the field, the season provided plenty to celebrate. During its centenary year, Claremont continued to invest in opportunities across both its Men's and Women's programs. The Senior Men's team progressed to the WAFL Grand Final, while the Women's program continued to grow, supported by the opening of new female changeroom facilities that reflect the club's commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all players.
Throughout the season, we attended President's Luncheons and Tiger Connect Business Networking events, creating opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones. The events featured a range of guest speakers, including Joe Brierty, Executive General Manager of Football at the Fremantle Dockers, who shared insights into leadership, culture and building high-performing teams. These events bring together business leaders, club supporters and community members, making the club an important hub for both the football and business communities.
A highlight from this year’s sponsorship was PKF NAIDOC Match Day. As proud sponsors, we had the opportunity to be part of a celebration that recognised the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At the NAIDOC Match Day President’s Luncheon, guests had the opportunity to hear from the Lewis brothers, who shared stories about their family's deep connection to the club and the important role Aboriginal players have played in shaping Claremont's history.
In the lead-up to NAIDOC Match Day, representatives from the club, Lucinda Fransen, Shane Yardley, Daijon Puertollano and Mia Jackson visited our office to provide insight into the important work being undertaken by CFC in regional and Indigenous communities. We heard about development camps, nutrition programs and talent pathways that are helping create opportunities for young athletes across Western Australia.
We also learned the story behind the club's 2026 NAIDOC guernsey, designed by Colts players Robert Farmer and Elijah Williams. The artwork reflects their journey from the Great Southern to Claremont and the sense of belonging they have found through football and community. It was the first year the club introduced Indigenous guernseys across every level of the club during the NAIDOC round. PKF Perth are proud to sponsor community programs that support Indigenous engagement initiatives and pathways for young people across Western Australia.
"Being part of Claremont's centenary season has been incredibly rewarding. This year also marked our first season supporting both the Men's and Women's programs, and throughout the year we've enjoyed getting to know the people who make the club what it is.
Through President's Luncheons, Tiger Connect events and match days, we've had the opportunity to connect with clients, referral partners, supporters and the broader Claremont community. NAIDOC Match Day was a particular highlight, especially seeing Indigenous guernseys worn across every level of the club for the first time. It was a strong reflection of the club's commitment to community, inclusion and creating a sense of belonging for everyone involved."
