Professional experience

Rachel Tongue is a Business Adviser and Chartered Accountant based in our New England North West (NENW) office, servicing clients across Tamworth and Walcha. Having spent more than two decades with the firm, Rachel has grown her career from Junior Accountant through to Business Adviser, bringing extensive experience and a practical understanding of regional businesses.

Rachel specialises in working with our succession clients as well as agricultural and transport businesses, combining her technical expertise with firsthand experience as part of a family farming and trucking operation. This gives her a genuine appreciation of the challenges business owners face and enables her to provide practical, proactive advice that supports long-term success.

She holds a Certificate II in Accounting, a Bachelor of Business (Agricultural Commerce) majoring in Financial Management, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

Rachel is passionate about helping people and making a positive difference in their businesses and lives. She enjoys working closely with clients, taking a big-picture approach to identify opportunities, solve challenges and support informed decision-making. Her philosophy is simple: A challenge isn't a problem - it's an opportunity to grow and move forward.

After more than 21 years with PKF, Rachel values the strong relationships she has built with both clients and colleagues. She believes the strength of PKF lies in its people, its collaborative culture and its commitment to delivering personalised advice that makes a real impact.

Outside of work, Rachel is a busy mother of four and works alongside her husband and his family on their farm, where they run cattle, sheep, pigs, cropping operations and a trucking business. She also enjoys stock work on horseback, gardening, hockey and running. Deeply involved in her local community, Rachel serves as President of her local Hall Committee, President of her local school P&C, Treasurer of the Pony Club and Treasurer of West Tamworth St Paul's Church.
