PKF opens Townsville office

Leading audit, accounting and tax firm PKF has announced its expansion in North Queensland with the opening of a new office in Townsville’s CBD.

Leading PKF North Queensland in the Townsville office will be Audit and Assurance Partner Tim Follett, who recently relocated to Townsville from Brisbane. Tim has family in Townsville and has been with PKF in Brisbane for 17 years. For the last seven years, Tim has been servicing clients in the north of the state from Brisbane and regularly commuting. However, with client growth continuing, Tim’s move to Townsville has been inevitable.

“Townsville is a vibrant, growing business community,” said Mr Follett. “I’ve built strong relationships with a number of local businesses here over many recent years. Dr Daryl Holmes, founder of 1300Smiles has been a great supporter and I’ve been blessed to be appointed as the Auditor of Cowboys Leagues and Football Club, Calvary Church and College, YWAM, Menninger Capital and more. Living and working locally in Townsville comes as a relief after many years of frequent travel to the region”.

The establishment of the Townsville office continues the PKF network’s strong growth in recent years and further cements PKF as one of the fastest growing firms in Australia’s mid-tier market. PKF Brisbane acquired local Brisbane firm PT Partners on 1 July last year, which when combined with organic growth saw the firm’s headcount grow by over 30 per cent and took the firm to $15 million in fees.

“We see Townsville and North Queensland more broadly as a critical market for PKF,” said Liam Murphy, PKF Brisbane’s Managing Partner. “The options for audit services are incredibly limited in Townsville in particular, so it makes sense for Tim to be based there full time. Over time we hope to see more clients being served locally in North Queensland, whilst still having access to specialists from throughout the PKF network.”
