Growing up and working in a family that owned various meat processing and butchering businesses, Dean learnt first-hand the ups and downs of the cutthroat business world. He began his career in Commerce as a Chartered Accountant for a prominent Chartered Accounting firm in West Perth before moving to the specialist tax consulting division of EY, and later a boutique firm.
In 1992, together with Paul Skinner, Dean established Pike & Skinner Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers which would go on to grow many times over, providing a platform to think and behave as a business owner, employing many people, servicing many clients. Dean used his experience and knowledge to ensure he was equipped to meet his clients' challenges and to help them achieve their dreams. In seeking to expand the scope of their advice, and develop a 'one-stop shop' for their clients, they established Pike Skinner Financial Services in 1995 and expanded in 2001 when Tony Munday joined.
Pike Skinner Chartered Accountants and Pike Skinner Financial Services merged with PKF Mack Perth in 2016 (now PKF Perth).
