We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Brisbane CBD.

Our Business Services team is an integrated group of specialists that deliver services specifically developed and tailored to each business, providing clients with sound financial strategies, reporting and governance. We can act as an outsourced role on the client’s management team, helping clients to develop better relationships with key stakeholders such as their banks and financiers.

Key responsibilities

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of larger groups consisting of companies, partnerships, trusts, individuals & SMSF’s
  • Preparation of business activity statements for various business structures
  • Liaison with the ATO on all client related matters
  • Sole management of small client portfolio
  • Leading the training & supervision of junior staff
  • Coordination & review of work prepared by junior staff & offshore team
  • Preparation and presentation of internal technical training sessions
  • Preparation of Client updates & alerts
  • Preparation of simple & complex Fringe Benefit Tax returns
  • Assist with preparing advice on tax and business issues
  • Preparation of a multitude of ad hoc reports for financial, tax, and regulatory purposes
  • Hands on preparation of advanced tax and advisory work


What you need to apply

Skills:

  • Time management, detailed-oriented, and organized, with ability to multi-task
  • Effective written and oral communication skills within all levels of the organization
  • Assist in the learning and development of junior staff
  • Basic understanding of tax laws, state taxes and duties relating to resident taxpayers
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of various range of accounting systems
  • Identify business performance issues and ability to identify key indicators.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 43-4 years of accounting experience 
  • Have completed a relevant accounting degree (BCom or BBus)
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Advanced knowledge of computerized accounting packages i.e., IPS, APS, Xero and MYOB.
