Global reach, local insight: PKF teams unite on the ground in Western Australia

Our Perth office recently welcomed colleagues from the UK to support a shared international mining client.

This mining client has operations throughout the world and must comply with local and international reporting requirements. With input from our team locally in Australia and group auditors, PKF Littlejohn in the UK, we ensure that the client can comply with their reporting obligations. 

Understanding the operating environment 

Our teams visited the client’s operational mining site in Western Australia. This enabled greater collaboration between the client and the auditors. The audit team work with several stakeholders, not just the finance team. On site, the PKF team met with geologists, mobile maintenance and other members of the team to get a better understanding of the business. It allowed for real-time knowledge sharing and PKF gained a deeper understanding of the client’s operations and the operating environment. This has strengthened the relationship between the client, local auditors and group auditors. It helps to streamline the audit process, reducing pressure on client staff, improve reporting accuracy, and align audit schedules.
