New land tax thresholds for NSW

Did you know that the land tax thresholds have been increased for 2016?

If you own property in NSW, other than your home, there is a good chance you are liable to pay land tax.

What are the new rates?

Land tax threshold

The standard land tax threshold has been increased from $432,000 to $482,000 with the tax rate maintained at $100 plus 1.6%.

Premium threshold

The Premium threshold has also been increased from $2,641,000 to $2,947,000 for 2016. The Premium tax rate has increased to $39,540 plus 2%.
