With more than 10 years experience in Corporate Recovery in Australia, the UK and Europe, James is recognised for his ability to manage the various complex relationships involved in insolvency and reconstruction processes. Having initially joined PKF London in 1999 he moved permanently to Australia in 2007. James qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 and became a registered and official liquidator in 2011.
James focuses on all areas of formal corporate insolvencies including administrations, receiverships, deed of company arrangements, and liquidations. He also undertakes pre-lending reviews and investigative accountants reports of companies on behalf of major banks and financial institutions. James has particular experience in sectors including aged care, printing, property and construction, pubs and clubs, and retail.
James undertakes investigative accountants reports on underperforming aged care facilities. He is appointed by directors and financiers to provide an independent report on key aspects of a facility including: financial position, performance and forecasts; management information systems; bond values and budgeted future bond collections; staff costs and staffing issues; demographics issues, occupancy levels, residency mix and industry benchmarking.
James understands the key issues facing the printing industry; namely overcapacity, pressures from offshore competition, and the switch from offset to digital technology. Consequently he can advise banks and directors on optimum strategies to maximise a printing company's performance.
Working closely with PKF’s tax and enterprise advisory departments; James oversees the management of Members’ Voluntary Liquidations which are a tax effective method of returning solvent companies surplus assets to their shareholders.
Clients rely on James to provide clear and concise advice regarding an organisation’s future options including operational turnaround, sale or refinancing of debt.
