Craig is an experienced and trusted business adviser with a career spanning more than 11 years working with a varied client base. Craig initially joined PKF from Scotland in 2003, having trained and qualified in Glasgow and since that time has developed a portfolio of work ranging from smaller single entity audits through to the audit of major multinationals including Australian public listed, large international groups and privately owned entities. Craig's experience to date covers industries such as media and entertainment, high street retail, wholesale product distribution and portfolio and funds management.
Craig also has significant experience in advising and working closely with not for profit organisations – particularly private schools, clubs, and professional medical associations and training colleges.
In addition to his audit experience, Craig is responsible for managing a range of core business services provided to large special purpose vehicles set up to cover a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects. Craig heads up PKF’s Infrastructure Focus Group whose work includes management and statutory reporting, audit of financial models, internal audit assignments, co-ordination of group audits, asset valuations, all of which requires the team to work closely with various project members and service providers.
His approach with clients is to build strong relationships with their senior management team, and believes that by better understand his clients’ business, their people, the factors impacting on their success, their focus and their business objectives, he and his team are able to tailor their advice and services accordingly.
By knowing how clients like to work and through open and regular communication, Craig’s clients gain a better understanding of the processes involved and the work being performed. Clients say they appreciate the thoroughness of his reports which are often required for Boards of Directors, Finance Committees or to satisfy corporate governance and statutory requirements. Over the past nine years, Craig has built a close knit and loyal team at PKF. Clients know the whole team which means that he does not have to brief new people each year.
Clients see Craig as a trusted adviser and will often approach him for a second opinion on potential business decisions. As their business changes and develops, clients will have different risks and requirements beyond their audit needs, in which case Craig facilitates relationships with other partners within the firm to ensure clients have access to the full range of services available.
