Practice Description
The Mount Barker practice of PKF is located in the Adelaide Hills, some 30 kilometres east of the city on the South Eastern freeway. The practice is conducted by one Partner, Rick Copping, six qualified accountants and three support staff.

Rick, together with the support of his staff, has built the practice by offering clients a truly different type of accountancy service.

Road Transport Industry
Rick’s knowledge of the industry is evidenced by the number of guest speaker and specialist consulting assignments he has been engaged for. Some presentations he has delivered include, RTF (now ATA) annual trucking conference guest speaker, Royal Pines 1997, Canberra 1998 and Adelaide 1999, South Australia Road Transport Association 1997/98, Freightliner dealer conference Brisbane 1999, NSW LTA viability workshop 1999, RTF Safety and Viability conference in Albury 1999, AFRA annual conference in Melbourne 1997, joint facilitator of many one day Truck Plus workshops across Australia, Natroads annual conference 1998, Cummins Australia, BP Australia, ALTA annual conference July 1999, Bandag, and SA LTA annual conference 1999.

Primary Producers
Rick managed his family's 3,000 acre mixed farm in the South East of South Australia until 30 years of age. This hands-on experience enables the Mount Barker practice to provide their rural clients with much more than just old fashioned tax services. Setting up computerised management accounting systems, a selection of specialist farming software, business restructuring, preparing finance applications and budgets, and preparation of succession plans are just some examples of services provided to rural clients.
