Career Progression

We believe that to remain a successful firm, supported, structured and real career progression opportunities must be available to all our staff!

The career progression path for professional accounting staff at PKF generally follows a typically hierarchical structure that can be found in many public practice firms. The Partnership leads our Firm followed by the Management team which assists in managing our Senior Accountants; PKF then has several options whereby staff can commence their careers in our junior level roles. Professional staff who join PKF as their first career accounting role, join as either a Cadet (straight from school) or as a Graduate (having completed their bachelors degree). The intake streams generally combine at the Senior Accountant grade.

Experienced hires are classified as those that join the Firm at all other grades in both professional accounting and support roles.  So, experienced hires relate not only  to opportunities  for experienced accountants, but also for individuals who wish to join our shared services team which supports our accountants, covering roles in IT, HR, Marketing, Administration and Finance to name a few examples.

As part of PKF's commitment to ensure our people receive every opportunity to progress in their careers, performance and development is formally reviewed annually, although informal discussions regarding progression opportunities occur regularly throughout the year. Formal reviews and on-the-job monitoring provide an opportunity to receive individual feedback from a Partner or Manager in relation to the achievement of PKF's goals as well as your own.

To ensure we help staff meet their career goals and to align these with PKF's overall business goals, we invest in staff via support for achieving professional qualifications and mentoring in professional and personal development.
